The heavy rains of last October have brought out some wildflowers. Here the roadside desert sunflower (Gerea canescens), while more common in February through May, have bloomed a second time after the heavier than usual rainfall last month. Also, note the much cleaner air in the Borrego Valley after the Thanksgiving holiday off-roaders stirred up dust.
