You can order an iPad 2 online beginning March 11 at 1:00 AM. The time was chosen to accommodate all time zones where the iPad will go on sale first. I logged onto Apple's Web site at 12:57 AM expecting to have trouble getting in to the site. I didn't have any trouble ... I logged in, placed my iPad 2 order, paid the tab, and logged off in less than 15 minutes. It will be shipped to my house in 3 to 5 days.
The more widely know announcement said that the iPad 2 would go on sale at 5 PM local time at AT&T, Best Buy, Target, Verizon Wireless, Walmart and select Apple Authorized Resellers.
Every customer who buys an iPad 2 at an Apple retail store will be offered free Personal Setup service, helping them customize their iPad 2 by setting up email, loading new apps from the App Store℠ and more, so they’ll be up and running with their new iPad 2 before they leave the store.
