Old Posterous Blog

These blog postings were imported from the Posterous service before Posterous closed down. Posterous was acquired by Twitter in February 2013.

A new blog service has come on the scene, Posthaven. The developers are the same as those that started Posterous. Their promise for Posthaven? "Websites come and go. This one is made to last forever."

Roofing Project

Arie Korporaal October 11, 2011

Our roofing project is in full swing. The workers have removed all the existing shingles (2 layers of asphalt shingles and the original layer of wooden shingles) exposing the slats below that serve as the roof. Current building code no longer allows slat-style roofs and the next step in this project will be to cover the entire roof with plywood sheets. Covering the entire roof structure with plywood sheeting. The roof has new plywood. Now comes the arduous task of getting all materials on the roof to be installed. This worker, working 4 days straight, carried fifty three 40+-pound shingle bundles from the back patio up to the roof for the installers to nail the shingles, carried up all the plywood, the felt paper underlayment, and the specialized material used on the back side of the house. This guy earned his salary. Here the heavy felt paper is being laid before the shingles are installed on the front side of the house.
