Last night we had two, count 'em, two moderate earthquakes in less than 30 seconds. The first, at about 8:08 PM PDT was measured with at 4.9 magnitude. The second quake, just 24 seconds later, has been measured at 4.5 magnitude. Both were short, short jolts with no rolling felt here in Borrego Springs.
I haven't heard of any reports of damage and our house doesn't show any damage either. The intensity of the largest quake has been estimated at III to IV. Attached is a copy of an intensity map from the US Geological Survey.
